Oopbuy spreadsheet: women

Last updated .

Quick answer: Women's clothing from Taobao and Weidian usually runs smaller than Western sizes, and many listings are 'one size'. Compare the seller's chart in centimetres with a garment you own instead of trusting S, M or L. Bags need different care: protect their shape in packing and expect them to add volume to the parcel. Jewellery and small accessories are the cheapest things to add to any haul.

Women's finds: what's different

Women's clothing, bags and accessories are a large part of every Oopbuy spreadsheet, and they come with their own set of surprises. Sizes run small and are often listed as a single "one size". Fabrics and colours look different under warehouse lights. Bags arrive crushed if nobody asks for them to be protected. None of this is hard to handle once you know where to look. The grid above shows current finds; open any photo for the product page with prices and photos.

Most problems with women's orders come from sizing and packing, and both can be handled before you pay for shipping.

Reading Chinese size charts

Taobao and Weidian sellers size for a smaller average frame than most Western brands, so a Chinese M often fits like a Western S. The letter on the label is the least useful information on the page. The size chart is the most useful. It is almost always in centimetres and usually lists:

Chart termWhat it measuresHow to compare
BustChest circumference of the garment (or twice the flat width)Measure a top you own across the chest, flat, and double it
WaistWaist circumference of the garmentFor trousers and skirts; check whether it is stretched or relaxed
HipsWidest point below the waistMatters most for fitted skirts and trousers
LengthFrom the shoulder seam or waistband to the hemCompare with a piece you like the length of
SleeveShoulder seam to cuffOften short on Western arms

The reliable method is to lay a garment that fits you flat, measure the same points and choose the size whose numbers match or are slightly larger. Many listings are "one size" (均码 in the original Chinese), usually cut for a small frame; check its numbers as carefully as any other size. If a measurement you care about is missing, ask the seller through the order remark.

Compare centimetres with a garment you own; never order by the letter alone.

Checking QC photos for clothes and bags

  • Colour. Warehouse lighting can shift colours. Ask for an extra photo near daylight if the shade matters.
  • Fabric and finish. Look for pilling, loose threads, uneven hems and crooked prints.
  • Hardware. Zips, buttons, clasps and chains: check they are all there and look secure.
  • Measurements. For a fitted item, ask for a photo with a tape measure across the bust or waist. It costs ¥1.
  • Bags. Check shape, corners, handles, lining and stitching at the strap joins, where wear starts.

You have 5 days from storage to request a return or exchange, so look at the photos when they arrive. Before ordering, a QC finder shows photos other buyers received from the same listing; the QC guide explains how.

A ¥1 measurement photo saves a return on fitted pieces.

Shipping bags and accessories

Bags are light for their size, so they can add more to the shipping bill than their weight suggests, especially on lines that charge volumetric weight. They also deform if packed flat under heavier items. Some practical requests to make before the parcel is packed:

  1. Ask for the bag to be stuffed or wrapped so it keeps its shape.
  2. Remove outer boxes, keep the dust bag if you want to save volume but keep protection.
  3. Put heavy items at the bottom. A rehearsal lets you see how the parcel was packed before you pay.
  4. Consider an "actual weight" line for parcels with bags or puffer jackets, so you pay for weight rather than volume.

Jewellery, hair accessories, scarves and small leather goods are the opposite. They weigh almost nothing and fit into gaps, so they are the cheapest additions to any haul. They are also easy to lose in a big parcel: ask for small items to be bagged together.

Protect bags, fill gaps with small accessories, and let the rehearsal show you the packing.

Keeping the parcel affordable

Clothing is light, so women's hauls are usually cheaper to ship than shoes, until bags and outerwear go in. Collect items over a few weeks (storage is free for 90 days) and ship them together, because most lines charge less per kilo after the first weight step. Use any shipping coupon from your account wallet; the coupon guide explains where they are. For transit times by line, see the shipping time page.

Customs rules are the same as for any parcel. VAT applies from the first euro or pound on most lines unless the line includes it. In the EU, a flat €3 customs duty per item has applied to parcels up to €150 since July 2026, with normal duty above that. Customs can also hold goods that infringe trademarks, and the money for a seized parcel is usually lost.

Batch light clothing together and add accessories into the gaps; keep bags to parcels where volume is already paid for.

For a first women's order, pick two or three pieces from sellers with recent QC photos, compare each chart with clothes you own, and ship them together on a tracked line. FAQ

Does Chinese women's clothing run small?

Usually, yes. A Chinese M often fits like a Western S. Ignore the letter and compare the seller's measurements in centimetres with a garment that fits you.

What does 'one size' mean on Taobao?

The item comes in a single size, often labelled 均码 in the original listing, cut for a fairly small frame. Check the measurements carefully; one size rarely means it fits everyone.

How do I read a Taobao size chart?

Charts list measurements in centimetres, usually of the garment laid flat or as circumference: bust, waist, hips, length and sleeve. Measure the same points on a piece you own and compare.

How should bags be shipped from Oopbuy?

Ask for the bag to be stuffed or wrapped so it keeps its shape, and accept that it adds volume. Removing outer boxes but keeping a dust bag is a common compromise.

What should I check in QC photos for clothes?

Colour in daylight, stitching, prints, zips and buttons, and a photo with a tape measure across the key measurement if fit matters.
